What is PTLS?
PTLS stands for Parents and Teachers for Lutheran Schools.
Our mission is to help educate parents and teachers in raising Christian children and to praise the Lord through our Lutheran school.
How do we achieve our mission?
We achieve our mission by:
Helping parents increasingly understand and appreciate their children, and to provide the skills needed for Christian child training.
Helping develop a closer relationship between the home and congregation's educational agencies, especially through closer cooperation between parents and teachers.
Helping provide service, activities and funding for more or better resources for the mission of the congregation's educational agencies.
How does the PTLS help the educational agencies and children?
The PTLS helps raise funds for education and improvements in the school and on the church grounds through its annual Chili Supper and Auction as well as through their 5K. We add resources to our educational experience, such as chromebooks, laptops, iPads and various needed items that teachers need to enhance the curriculum in their classroom. We also provide appreciation gifts to our teachers and staff as well as our parent appreciation gifts on Mother's Day and Father's Day. 10% of our annual fundraiser profits are give to the Lord through the church in thankfulness for His blessings.
How do I get involved?
You can get involved by attending the PTLS meetings, donating your time at our annual fundraisers, contacting your child's teacher or the school office to see where help is needed or by contacting a board member for more information.
What if I am not a member of St. Paul Serbin Church?
You do not have to be a member of St. Paul Serbin in order to attend or participate in the PTLS. You can volunteer within your church congregation by helping spread the word of our fundraisers, school, and activities.
